This phase in the P90X meal plan is mainly designed to strip fat and build muscles and is the lowest in calories and thus helps to kick start the weight loss and this diet is followed for the first four weeks where carbohydrate is more-or-less eliminated to make it most effective.

    In the second phase of the P90X meal plan, is called the Energy Booster where two complex carbohydrates are again introduced in the diet as you move on to the more strenuous parts of the exercises programs. You can eat three servings of the complex carbohydrate like bread, pasta, wheat or even oatmeal and you can take a low glycemic index fruit as well and include it in your diet plan. Increasing the intake of the carbohydrates is accompanied with the high protein intake as well to aid in the recovery of the muscles.

    It is interesting to note that you can carry on this diet as long as feel it is working well for you and this particular diet is aimed to provide to additional energy for the plyometrics work out. You can proceed to the third part of the P90X meal plan only when you feel that you need even more muscle mass and at the same time increase muscle endurance. No wonder this stage is called the Endurance Maximizer as the main purpose of this diet plan is to give you stamina to provide you enough energy to work out the training program successfully.
